Gibraltar’s High Executive Possessing Specialist Skills (HEPSS) regime is designed to attract talent to Gibraltar by offering a favourable tax environment. As of the 2025/2026 tax year, the HEPSS status continues to provide significant tax benefits for qualifying individuals.

Key HEPSS Tax Residency Requirements

To qualify for HEPSS status in Gibraltar, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Specialist Skills: Possess skills that are necessary to promote and sustain economic activity of particular value to Gibraltar, which are not readily available within the territory.
  • Employment: Be employed in a high executive or senior management position in Gibraltar.
  • Income: Earn more than £160,000 per annum in Gibraltar.
  • Accommodation: Have exclusive use of approved residential accommodation in Gibraltar for the entire year of assessment.
  • Previous Residency: Not have been resident or working in Gibraltar within the three years preceding the application.

Taxation Under the HEPSS Regime
