It is possible to transfer a UK pension scheme to a non UK pension scheme known as a Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS).

There are a number of conditions that a foreign pension scheme must fulfill before being recognised and accepted by HMRC in the UK. Gibraltar pension schemes which satisfy these conditions are able to obtain this status.

This is of particular interest to Category 2 residents as one of the conditions is that the individual must be resident in Gibraltar.
